MANAGING PARTNER / CO-FOUNDER
J. William Ferneborg (“JW”) is co-founder of Ferneborg & Associates. He combines his strong technical and organizational skills with his visionary approach to finding key executives for client companies in a wide range of industries. His search practice specializes on: Technology, Interactive & Digital Entertainment, Internet companies & services, Consumer Products, Food, Beverages & Spirits, Logistics & Transportation and Publishing.
From startups to Fortune 500 companies, JW’s insight, relationship skills and professionalism have made him an invaluable partner in the search for the top talent his clients require to build and retain strong leadership teams. Prior to co-founding Ferneborg & Associates in 1994, he was a Senior Associate with Smith, Goerss & Ferneborg. He currently resides on the advisory board of Blue Chip Expert, a pre-public internet company.
JW graduated from the University of Southern California and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications.
John R. Ferneborg

John Ferneborg has over 25 years of experience in executive search consulting. His expertise and track record in the industry has created a myriad of successful leadership teams in a broad range of industries.
John has been named one of “North America’s Top Executive Recruiters” in the Book The Career Makers published by HarperCollins. Currently co-founder of Ferneborg & Associates, John previously served as a Senior Vice President and board member of Heidrick & Struggles and was a founding partner of Smith, Goerss & Ferneborg. He recently served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC). The AESC is the professional association which represents retained executive search consulting firms worldwide.
John graduated from North Park College in Chicago Illinois with a Bachelor of Science Degree. He did his graduate work at Northwestern University.
