An open and consultative approach to search

Partnership
We value your expertise and experience and will include you in each step of the search process, rather than as an adjunct to the final decision-making stage. This is especially true when you are looking to fill the role with an executive with proven experience.
Communication
Our process is open and transparent. We will provide regular updates and encourage feedback as the process evolves. Often, the position responsibilities and candidate requirements change.  Therefore, an open line of communication will ensure a smooth process.
Collaboration
We will work in collaboration with all key decision makers to ensure all voices are heard and issues are addressed. We strive to reach a consensus-based decision.

Search timing
We know you wanted your final candidates yesterday, and we respect that. Since every search is unique and has a life of its own, the overall length of a search is often difficult to pinpoint:
  • Our firm's partners make the initial contact and conduct personal interviews, so we're thorough and have the best ability to attract great candidates for your company.
  • We work with urgency, but we don't "short-cut" the process. Taking the time to conduct a thorough search will yield the best results for your company.
  • In general our clients should be meeting with and interviewing a panel of candidates within approximately 3-4 weeks. The time of the year can affect the search duration; i.e. winter holidays, spring break, summer travel etc.
How we charge
Flat fee
Over the years, we've learned from our clients, that they want to understand how much the project will cost before they begin the search.  We bet you do too!

With The Ferneborg Group it's simple, we offer a flat fee for our service. You'll know exactly what the cost will be and can budget accordingly. Also, your Finance department will appreciate a clear invoice, devoid of miscellaneous expenses and reconciliation issues at the end of the project.
No hidden expenses
Expenses, for many search firms, has almost become a second source of income.  We know this isn't the way to build a long term trusted relationship with you.

We will only bill direct out-of-pocket expenses for consultant and/or candidate reimbursement.
